Acupuncture

Acupuncture is the stimulation of specific anatomical points in the body with small sterile needles with the purpose to alter biochemical and physiological conditions to achieve a therapeutic effect. Acupuncture is used all around the world and in conjunction with Western medicine we can see an increased speed of recovery, reduction in pain medications, and increased well-being. Acupuncture may stimulate nerves, increase circulation, alleviate muscle spasms and increase hormones in the body that make us and pets feel better.

Acupuncture may be used to treat a variety of conditions most commonly it is used for chronic pain management, intervertebral disc disease, and degenerative joint disease. There are two important criteria for a veterinary acupuncturist: They must be a licensed veterinarian and should have formal training in the practice of veterinary acupuncture.
